Training & CPD

I am Pritesh Raichura, author of the Bunsen Blue blog for over a decade. Having worked at inner-city London schools for 11 years, including in some of the highest performing schools in the country, and having worked for a trust of rural and coastal schools, I now find myself in the fortunate position of having availability to offer training and CPD to schools around the country.

My Philosophy

I practice what I preach.
- I have demonstrated excellence in classroom practice: my own last GCSE science class secured 100% 9-9s, in an inner-city school with a comprehensive intake.
- My science department at Michaela Community School scored a progress 8 score of +2.55 in 2022. I have since led and then line managed the science department at Ark Soane Academy, which is on track to secure some of the best grades in the country.
- I have led on Teaching and Learning as Assistant Principal at Ark Soane Academy, which 100s of visitors have remarked as being exemplary.
- I led on Teaching across 6 rural and coastal secondary schools in the South West.
You can see my work, so you know what you will get.
- I feature in the StepLab documentary, ‘Great Teaching, Unpacked‘ where my lessons showcase science teaching and culture building: https://steplab.co/watch
Clarity, candour and high standards.
- I believe tax-payer money is precious so want to work with schools that share a vision of high standards & evidence-based practice (explicit instruction, knowledge-rich curriculum and want to draw on experiences of the highest performing schools).
- I am very direct with my feedback and suggestions.
- I expect the very best of leaders and teachers.

What I Offer

Day visits to support leaders with T&L/pedagogy, behaviour/culture, curriculum and science departments.
INSET training sessions.
3 – 4 day ‘intensive coaching weeks‘ to train & coach a group of ‘seed’ teachers in a school or trust.
